ANGELA HARRIS

Angela is a Montana Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Montana. Angela has worked in a variety of settings including child welfare, non-profit organizations, mental health centers and schools. She has advanced training in mental health, social-emotional development, community collaboration, and program coordination/assessment.

Angela formerly worked as a school-based Director of Student Support Services before moving into private practice, contracting, and consulting. Her experience and knowledge of school systems has assisted her in working with children and families who are having social-emotional and mental health challenges. Her approach is comprehensive and team-oriented, focusing on working as a team to assist in creating the most impact for students.

Angela’s clinical practice consists of working through a holistic lens, blending multiple evidence-based approaches to best meet the client’s needs. She is a certified Phase 2 trainer in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics ©, a neurobiologically informed approach to clinical problem solving that includes the effects of trauma and attachment on brain development and functioning. Through years of experience, she has worked with diverse ages providing cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, trauma focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, grief and loss counseling, and parent management training. Whether working with individuals, groups or families, Angela devotes her focus on client-centered goals to assist with individual growth and confidence in self-management of emotions and coping skills. True healing is a journey and sometimes you need someone to walk with you.
